Hidden Food Allergens

Food allergies and sensitivities are extremely common because we tend to eat the same foods everyday.   Over time our bodies start to develop immune reactions to these repeat foods and symptoms such as stomach aches, diarrhea, constipation, joint pain, eczema and skin rashes may develop.  Elimination diets or simple blood testing can be done to detect which foods are the culprit of these persistent symptoms.  Some of the most common food sensitivites are to: Dairy, Wheat, Soy, Nuts, Peanuts, Shellfish, and Citrus.  CNN has recently run an article on allergies and has made a list of food that are often hidden in the ingredients of many commonly consumed foods. You'll be surprised at how much label reading is necessary when trying to eliminate one of these common allergens from your diet.
